Declaración de artista (Statement)
En mi trabajo artístico exploro diversos temas de interés que van desde la modificación del paisaje rural y urbano de la ciudad de barranquilla, el departamento del atlántico y la región caribe, las interpretaciones de las cosmogonías propias de las culturas amerindias que habitaron dichas demarcaciones, hasta la disposición por los procesos históricos y socioculturales que se desarrollan en el territorio colombiano producto de los diversos procesos de descolonización y aceleración industrial, abordo dichos intereses desde el dibujo, la pintura y la escultura referenciando las formas y estéticas de las piezas arqueológicas propias de los territorios mencionados anteriormente.
Lineamientos generales
Mi trabajo parte de la lectura e investigación de los procesos históricos y culturales de los territorios del departamento del atlántico y la región caribe en que vivo por los cuales a partir de estos procesos recopilo un conjunto de imágenes, símbolos y signos que empleo en la elaboración de mis obras, partiendo de una exploración de la plasticidad del dibujo y la pintura trabajo el paisaje rural - urbano y el territorio. Las composiciones están dispuestas de tal forma que pueda sobreponerse el paisaje y las piezas empleadas, en el caso de otras series como paisaje reducido se disponen de manera simétrica con el fin de enfatizar el protagonismo de los elementos centrales.
la relación de mi obra con términos como patrimonio, arqueología, paisaje rural - urbano, territorio y ciudad es una constante, para empezar represento la imagen y estética de muchas piezas arqueológicas, esto inherentemente vincula la obra con el significado de patrimonio arqueológico y el de ruralidad en el departamento del atlántico y la región caribe en general, con respecto al paisaje urbano o ciudad la asociación es por contraposición con lo rural tanto de forma conceptual como visual cuando se habla de la puesta en escena y las composiciones creadas en series como asedio y radiografías del carbón; dicha contraposición es simplificada en paisaje reducido donde hay una síntesis del paisaje urbano con el grafiti y la fijación de este sobre la imagen de la pieza arqueológica.

Artist Statement
In my artistic work I explore various themes of interest ranging from the modification of the rural and urban landscape in the city of Barraquilla, the department of Atlantico and region caribean, the interpretations of the crosmogenies of the culture native american tha inhabited these demarcarions, until dispocition by historical and socio-cultural processes that are developed in the colombian territory product of the diverse processes of descolonization and industrial acceleration, I address theres interest from the drawing, painting and sculpture referencing the forms and aesthetics of the archaeological pieces of the territories mentioned above.
General guidelines
My work is based on the reading and investigation of the historical and cultural processes of the territories of the department of Atlantico and the Caribbean region where I live, from these processes I compile a set of images symbols and signs that I use in the elaboration of my works, starting from an exploration of the plasticity of drawing and painting I work the rural-urban landscape and the territory. The compositions are arranged in such a way that the landscape and the pieces used can be superimposed, in the case of other series like “Paisaje reducido” they are arranged in a symmetrical way in order to emphasize the prominence of the central elements.
